Day 1: Muscat – Ibra – Wadi Bani Khalid – Wahiba Sands (Approx 260 Km)
Your journey begins as you meet your guide at your hotel or Muscat Airport in the morning. Drive toward the beautiful Wahiba Sands desert, with some wonderful stops on the way.
First, visit the charming village of Ibra, well-known for its traditional Women’s Market, held every Wednesday.
Continue to the stunning Wadi Bani Khalid, one of Oman’s most famous wadis. Enjoy a short walk among palm trees, mountains, and natural pools of clear blue water. A delicious lunch will be served at a local restaurant near the wadi.
In the afternoon, head into the heart of the Wahiba Sands, where endless golden dunes stretch to the sea. This magical desert has been home to the Bedouins for thousands of years.
You’ll have the chance to explore the high dunes and watch a spectacular sunset in the desert before reaching your comfortable desert camp.
Overnight in a desert camp in Wahiba Sands
Day 2: Wahiba Sands – Jalan Bani Bu Ali – Jalan Bani Bu Hassan – Ras Al Hadd (Approx 190 Km)
After breakfast at the camp, visit a local Bedouin family, where you’ll experience genuine Omani hospitality and learn about their desert way of life.
Then, continue to the town of Jalan Bani Bu Ali, known for its historic watchtowers, ancient fort, and beautiful wooden doors. If it's a Friday, you’ll get to visit the colorful Souq, full of traditional and modern treasures.
Next, explore Jalan Bani Bu Hassan, a neighboring town surrounded by lush date palm farms. Don’t miss the impressive Jalan Fort, one of the oldest in the region.
In the evening, arrive at Ras Al Jinz, home to the famous turtle reserve. Here you may witness the unforgettable sight of endangered green turtles coming ashore to lay their eggs – a truly special moment under the stars.
Overnight in a hotel in Ras Al Hadd
Day 3: Ras Al Hadd – Sur – Wadi Tiwi – Wadi Shab – Muscat (Approx 240 Km)
After breakfast, travel along the coast to Sur, a peaceful town known for its traditional homes and rich maritime history. Walk along the corniche and admire the dhows (wooden boats) in the harbor.
Next, visit Wadi Tiwi, a lush green valley with flowing streams, small farms, and charming mountain villages. The water here has been managed for centuries through Oman’s traditional falaj system.
Then explore Wadi Shab, one of Oman’s most beautiful canyons. After a short boat ride and a scenic 45-minute hike, you’ll reach natural pools of crystal-clear water. Swim through the turquoise pools to discover a hidden cave with a waterfall – a magical and refreshing experience.
In the late afternoon, return to Muscat, arriving by around 5:00 PM. Drop off at your hotel or Muscat Airport.
